Everett Davis
Director of Student,
Family & School Services,
Montgomery Co Schools (MD)
Everett Davis serves as Director of Student, Family and School Services in Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland. In this role, his primary responsibilities are family engagement and community partnerships. The African Proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child," guides his work. His "village" includes a dynamic team of multilingual Parent Community Coordinators who serve as liaisons, partners and specialists to all families in the district. Mr. Davis is a life-long and lead learner.
He continually strives to provide tools and resources that empower families to be partners with the school system so that they can advocate for their child's well-being, safety, security and academic success. He looks forward to sharing and learning from participants about strategies that allow for culturally responsive family engagement that promotes two-way communication.
On a personal note, Mr. Davis and his wife are the parents of three school age children, Spencer (16), Byron (13) and Wesley (8). He considers himself a true scholar-practitioner of the work involving family engagement.
