Tracy Lee is currently the Coordinator of Family Engagement in the Department of Special Education and Student Services at the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). She leads family engagement efforts for families of students with disabilities throughout the Commonwealth through training both parents and school divisions in parental rights, dispute resolution, SEAC regulations and operations, and best practices in collaboration through the special education process. She and her staff also provide leadership to Parent Resources Centers (PRCs) throughout Virginia. She has been an elementary school teacher, preschool director, and the Family Resource Coordinator for Colonial Heights Public Schools.
Mrs. Lee has co-authored two bestselling parenting books (1-2-3 Magic for Kids and the 1-2-3 Magic Workbook) and has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates, nationwide, discussing parenting and education related issues. She serves on the executive board of Women Education Leaders in Virginia as Secretary. She was the 2019 recipient of Virginia's Governor's Honor Award in the category of Personal and Professional Excellence, which is the highest possible honor for an employee of the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was also named the 2021 Region 1 Educational Leader of the Year by WELV (Women Educators in Virginia).
