Dr. Felicia D. Young

Founder and CEO of Higher Minds of Education

Dr. Felicia D. Young serves as the Owner and lead educational coach for Higher Minds of Education (HME). In this role, she was responsible for ensuring students are well versed in college and career readiness activities. HME provides services that aid in the professional development of students to make them strong candidates for local, state, and national workforce. They also serve as a resource for institutions of secondary education by providing support services. Prior to starting her business, Dr. Young served in an administrative role in the Louisiana Community College and Technical System, Assistant Director of Single Stop, a program that help community college students with food insecurity and other student support services. Throughout her career, Dr. Young has understood the power and impact of partnerships resulting in academic partnerships, new courses, and programs, as well as training programs. These partnerships have yielded critical donations, as well as student scholarships. She has remained committed to student success and providing opportunities for development, growth, and innovation for her community and students. Dr. Young holds an Ed.D. from Gwynedd Mercy University, a M.Ed. from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Dillard University.
